Workshops

There will be workshops which are free of charge, hosted by industry experts such as Mo Jogie and Dr Nicholas Hellmuth, covering top tips for graphics professionals.

The workshops will be a presentation style demo, no laptops needed. Active audience participation is welcome.

Mohammed Jogie has studied fine art and graphic design. He has worked on numerous international brands. He is head creative juicer at MSD and is also principal of Mzansi Creative Foundation. A design activist, he is an admin on AIGAfrica – a collaboration with AIGA New York and South African graphic designers. He has served as Vice President of Icograda and served on the boards Think, DSA and Cafe. He is a member of the International Society of Typographic Designers and the London City and Guilds. He is a project lead on the Mandela Poster Project Collective and MSD. Open design innovators initiative.

Dr Nicholas Hellmuth

Dr Nicholas Hellmuth is the founder, President, and Director of FLAAR. A Harvard graduate, Nicholas has spent many decades working in Latin America. He will be talking about the Growth of textile printing and the future opportunities that exist.

Free demonstrations by local experts on T-shirts and bags with speciality printing techniques, direct to transfer and screen printing. Pop into hall 1 during the 3 expo days and get tips and tricks, ask questions.

Enter The T-Shirt Design Competition

Design A Dare To Discover Themed Tee Competition FESPA Africa & Sign Africa

Designers are invited to post their “Dare To Discover” themed T-shirt on the FESPA Africa and Sign Africa Facebook pages.

Caption should include the hashtag “#FESPAAfrica”/ “#SignAfricaExpo”, the “Where Print & Signage Takes off” line.

Entries close on 10 September 2018.

Entrants need to get as many likes as possible by 10 September 2018 (5pm).

The top 15 designs will be printed and showcased at the show. These designs will be printed and displayed onsite for the public vote.

 

Competition rules:
Submitted designs should:
– Comprise of the ““Where Print & Signage Takes off” theme.

– Post their designs on either the FESPA Africa or Sign Africa Facebook page.

– Facebook posts caption should include the words “Where Print & Signage Takes off”along with the hashtag “#FESPAAfrica”/ “#SignAfricaExpo”.

– Get as many likes as possible for their design to be printed and showcased at the FESPA Africa and Sign Africa expo.

– Email the posted design to Thapy@practicalpublishing.co.za

Grand Prize is a trip to compete at the World Wrap Masters at FESPA 2019 in Europe.
